Joutsen and Lunga are now working together on sustainable fashion. Joutsen's sustainable fashion is based on circular economy thinking, which is not just about recycled materials or individual campaigns, but a holistic way of working. It starts at the design table and continues throughout the product's entire life cycle - from maintenance and repair to recycling and reuse.
Longevity by design
All Joutsen products are made to last, thanks to materials, comfort and timeless design. Down jackets and bedding are washable, which makes them easy to maintain at home. Waste is minimized in production and side streams are utilized, so that raw materials get a new life.

Maintenance and repair extend the service life
Joutsen offers washing, repair and seasonal storage services that help keep products in good condition and reduce the need for new purchases. Washing restores the fluffiness and thermal insulation of down, and broken zippers or seams are repaired at the factory. In the spring, the jacket can be brought to the store for seasonal storage and in the autumn it will be ready for use again. Joutsen products can now be repaired at Lunga's sewing shop.
Recycling gives a product a new story
When the end of its useful life comes, Joutsen takes in its own down jackets, blankets and pillows. Products that can be repaired are refurbished for sale in Second Life. The collaboration with Ninyes makes it easy for customers to responsibly resell their unwanted jackets. This way, the products continue their life with a new user.

Small actions have a big impact
Home remedies can also extend the lifespan: Vaatelaastari® patches and special detergents help keep down products in good condition year after year. Joutsen believes that the most sustainable garment is one that is worn for a long time, even by multiple users.
Joutsene products are now in the Lunga store and we repair Joutsene products in the sewing workshop.
